There are lots of amazing adventures right outside your door at Twilight View.  From scenic drives to, 4×4 trails, and horseback riding to fly fishing.  Whether you are a beginner or seasoned adventurer, it is all here.

Below is a list a few things that are all time favorite things to do in the San Juan Mountains and the Four Corners Area.

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad; it’s a must!!  A breathtaking journey back in time on the same train miners, settlers and cowboys used to travel through heart of the San Juan Mountains and the Animas River Canyon 100+ years ago – Learn More.

Mesa Verde National Park; 60 miles west of Durango is the home of the mysterious Anasazi Indians, tour the incredible cliff side dwellings that were their homes from AD 600-1300.  We can only guess where they went, they left some wonderful artifacts! – Learn More.

Right out your front door turn north or south and there are so many adventures!

The San Juan Skyway is right out your door!  Take a day to drive the Million Dollar Highway and visit the old mountain mining towns Silverton, Ouray, and Telluride.  Then you will drive around to where the mountains meet the high desert  with mesas and canyons, home of the Cliff Dwellers, the Anasazi Indians at Mesa Verde National Park.

The MTB Project from REI is a wonderful resource for hiking and biking trails in the back country.  You can download the app it’s free. MTB Project

The Alpine Loop Backcountry Byway is another great day trip.  This back country 4 wheel road through the rugged San Juan Mountains connects the old mountain mining towns of Lake City, Silverton, and Ouray.  For more information click on    Alpine Loop
